Brown Sugar and Bacon – Three Bean Casserole
February 9, 2016Anytime you do barbecue it is nice to pair it with a hearty side dish… and this one is so go good, you might even go back for seconds and skip the main coarse.
Here is what you need to make this easy crock-pot recipe:
Ground Hamburger (1 pound – browned)
15 oz. Can Pork ‘n Beans (drained) linky*
16 oz. Kidney Beans (drained) linky*
16 oz. Butter Beans (large or baby – drained) linky*
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Bacon (cooked and diced)
1/2 Cup Ketchup
1/3 cup Onion (diced)
1 Teaspoon Dry Mustard (or 1/4 cup regular yellow Mustard)
1 Tablespoon Vinegar
Salt & Pepper
Brown Hamburger (add spices while cooking) drain and place in slow cooker.
Cook 6 strips of bacon to 3/4 done. Allow to cool. Dice and add to slow cooker cooker.
Dice up your Onion and add it too.
Drain Beans and add to mix.
Add Brown Sugar, Ketchup, Mustard Vinegar and the rest of your ingredients.
Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours. Serve hot.
