Beer Can Chicken (Lemonade Chicken)September 29, 2012
Its a good day when I have enough time to use the smoker. This was an experiment that turned out pretty darn good using a whole chicken, some lemonade and my smoker filled with Mesquite wood chips.
(Serves 5 people)
4 pounds Whole Chicken
12 floz Minute Made Lemonade (in a soda can form)
6 floz Famous Daves Chicken Marinade
2 ounces EVOO
2 ounces Sweet Onion Pepper Seasoning
1). Inject chicken with 3-4 fl oz of Famous Dave’s Chicken Marinade. Make sure to poke it in lots of places. Pour excess marinade in pan under chicken.
2.) Rub the outside of the skin with extra virgin olive oil and then add sweet onion pepper seasoning, lightly covering the entire bird.
3.) Open up a can of
whoop-ass Minute Made Lemonade with a can opener.
4.) Pour 1/3 of the lemonade in the pan under chicken, then place the can on grill in the holder and place the chicken over it.

grill: grill should be at 375… cook the bird 20 min. per pound or until the breast meat has reached an internal temperature of 170 degrees.
smoker: set the smoker at 275 degrees and cook for 4-5 hours. Make sure to fill your water container and for this recipe we used Mesquite wood chips.
