Simple Football Chili
Football Chili can be made in many different ways. This recipe is an easy one with just a few ingredients that is simple to whip up on game day or mix it up the night before. Your slow cooker will be doing all the work while you kick back and enjoy the pre-game festivities on game day.
1 pound Ground Beef
2 cans Diced Tomato & Green Chilies Sauce (32 ounces)
2 cans Red Chili Beans (32 ounces)
1/4 cup Yellow Onion (chopped)
1/4 cup Mushrooms (chopped)
1/4 cup Fresh Red (and/or yellow) Peppers (chopped)
2 Tablespoon Chili Powder
1 Tablespoon White Sugar
1 Tablespoon Tears of Our Rivals Premium Sports Spices (linky)
1 Tablespoon 1ST & TEN Pepper Premium Sports Spices (linky)
1/8 teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper
1.) Brown all meat in a large iron skillet (don’t forget to grease the skillet with non-stick spray or butter)
2.) Drain grease (discard) add meat to slow cooker with all other ingredients
3.) Cook on low for 8 hours
4.) Serve with chili corn chips or saltine crackers.
If you are pressed for time: After browning the meat, put all ingredients into a large pot. Bring to boil and then lower to simmer and let cook for 1.5 hours.
