Reviewing the Uber Chill XL Mini Fridge

Hey Folks! It’s time to do another review and today we are doing one on a product that is not only a neat device that you can use while tailgating, you can also use it in your vehicle or at your home. The Uber Chill XL Mini Fridge is a pretty cool (pardon the pun) appliance that we think just might be something that you really enjoy adding to to your tailgating gear.

What does The Uber Chill XL have going for it?

Uber Features:

Cord Length: More than 1 foot (it actually includes 2 cords for AC or DC power)
Product Features: Non-Stick Surface, Variable 2 position Temperature Control
Wattage: 50-100 Watts
Color options: Red, Silver
Dimensions: 14 inches high x 13 inches wide x 15 inches long / 0.32 Cubic Feet

Two cords are included. One two pronged cord which will work for 110V house (AC) power. The second cord will fit into a standard car cigarette lighter socket so you can draw power from a 12V (DC) storage battery power… which is a power source far more available when tailgating in your local parking lot.

OK… so let’s test this little baby out… What can it hold?

Plenty of room for a 12 pack

Capacity:

12 cans, 6 bottles, 9 liters, more than 2 dozen ping pong balls or a pretty big stack of cold cash.

The UberChill XL is takes up a small footprint in your tailgating vehicle, but it will actually hold a full six pack of bottles, or a 12 pack of cans! #TailgateMaster Life Hack: put your drinks in cozies before you put them in the cooler for lightning fast distribution on game day 😉 and it is ridiculously light.

GREEN means COOL

Move the switch to “COLD”, and the green led will let you know you are in the cooling mode.

We tested the cooling power by placing drinks in the unit setting it to “COOL”.  After 12 hours we tested the temperate and it held a steady temperature of 36 degrees F. This is actually fairly comparable to your refrigerator.

Very Cool

NOTE: For best results, we recommend that you pre-chill your tailgating food items at home before placing inside the UberChill. The more things you put inside, the better it performs.

WOAH… I wasn’t expecting this little button: Not only does it keep things COOL… it can also keep things WARM. Like REALLY warm…. like over one hundred 140 degrees warm!

RED means WARM

Moving the switch to the far opposite direction “HOT” and a red led will indicate you are warming. “OFF” is halfway between those two settings.

We red lined the first thermometer! Really Warm!

For our warming test, we put soup in a glass container and placed it in the UberChill fridge on the warm setting for 12 hours. At the end of that time it still registered 149 degrees F. Not to fricking shabby. 🙂 Anyone and their brother can make a cooler to keep your beer cold… but this little baby will keep your BACON WARM! I kid you not!

(Seriously… i don’t really ever kid about bacon.)

What We Really Liked:

• super lightweight
• very compact
• holds a lot for the size
• very quiet
• AC or DC power

What We didn’t Like So Much:

• Only one setting for “Warm”
• Limited Color Options
• yeah… we couldn’t find much else to complain about
