Slow Cooker Apples à la Mode
March 30, 2018Slow Cooker Apple Pie
Slow Cooker Apples à la Mode is a fun and tasty dessert on game day and tastes just like a crust-less Apple Pie… and it sounds all fancy and stuff when you add the phrase à la mode… which simply means we are serving it with ice cream… and you thought you wouldn’t learn anything today. 😉
Thank you to Leah for sharing the recipe and photos!
Ingredients: -serves 3
1 lb of red delicious or gala apples (about 4 apples)
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp lemon juice
¼ cup butter – melted
Recipe:
- Cut and peel all apples
Making the apples more… a PEAL-ing
- Throw apples in a gallon sized ziplock bag
Just zip it!
- Add cornstarch to the bag and shake it up
- In a small bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon
- Add mixture to bag and shake again
- Transfer the coated apple slices to the crock pot
Making it BETTER with BUTTER
- Add melted butter, vanilla and lemon juice and stir
- Cook on high for two hours
- Serve over a bowl of ice cream!
Enjoy!
