Snake Bite Beer Opener ReviewFebruary 22, 2015
Recently we took a look at Snake Bite, a simple tool that actually does it’s job really well. Oh and it’s 100% made in the USA… so it’s got that going for it… which is nice.
What is Snake Bite? Well it is a uniquely handcrafted forked church key & bottle opener that should last you lifetime. Does this belong at your next tailgate? In a word: Yes!
So… Why Vent A Can?
Aside from opening bottles, we also introduced two fangs that allow you to vent your canned beer. Why vent a can? Basic physics: If just the main can opening is utilized, the pouring has to stop so that air can enter the can and re-establish equilibrium. This is what causes the “glug-glug-glug” sound when pouring something from a can if it isn’t vented. If you have venting, then air is let in which constantly keeps equilibrium in letting the liquid out smoothly. This is especially important when pouring a canned craft beer into a glass. It’s worth mentioning that every canned beer has different levels of carbonation and due to that, pour results will vary. Venting also eliminates a significant amount of air you ingest while drinking straight from a can. This greatly improves drinkability, comfort, and overall experience.
Don’t believe it? Check out the Pour Test below.

You might feel the cost a little above market value … but then again, when was the last time you bought a cool church key type opener with fangs, amirite? Just attach it to your key ring or maybe chain it to your cooler. We wouldn’t want it to slither away, would we?
All in all, the Snake Bite beer opener is a nifty little tool that is made in the U.S.A. and would defiantly be useful at your next tailgate!
