Tri Tip Steak in the Smoker

Meat smokers are a wonderful thing.1.5 pound Thick Cut Tri Tip Steak
1/2 ounces Steak Seasoning
Hickory Wood Chunks

ready for the smoker

Just the right amount of steak seasoning

1) Season both sides of steak with your favorite spices (at very minimum salt & pepper… but there are many good spices that work well here)

2) Let meat reach room temperature before placing it in your smoker

3) Smoke your tri tips at 210-225ºF for about 2 hours. This is a lean cut so too much heat will make it tough. Low and slow is key to getting a juicy tri tip steak.
